“World Without End” is the sound of an urban city dweller finding the ocean lapping at his feet, staring out at the world, while the twin tides of lockdown and Brexit pull us back into an isolated slumber. Fusing classic Italo and Belgian new beat sensibilities with mournful melodic motifs, WWE’s ethereal vocal gently intones as the emotional swell builds, “I want peace, I want to feel calm, I want to feel safe.” It’s a tonic for the times.

HeXreme Pursuit, by contrast, goes hard from the off and never looks back. A whip-crack kick and sawtooth synths do the heavy lifting, creating an industrial-strength, mid-paced monster. Its power lies not in speed, but in the relentless momentum and hooks for days. While current events sideline our lives onto social media, the track’s robotic mantra feels eerily prophetic: “What’s inside my head/This is me, I’m in too deep/Things are never gonna be the same.
